Presenting signs and symptoms:

• Neither desire nor enjoy close relationships even within their own family
• Prefer to live apart from others, choose solitary activities, have little interest in sexual activity with others and might describe themselves as "loners".
• Show emotional coldness, detachment or flattened affect.
• Occupation often involves little interpersonal contact.
