FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM

EXTERNAL GENETALIA:
Mons Pubis – is the fatty tissue lying above the pubic bone of adult women, anterior to the symphysis pubis. The mons pubis forms the anterior portion of the vulva.
Prepuce – The prepuce is an integral, normal part of the external genitalia that forms the anatomical covering of the clitoris.
Clitoris – a highly sensitive organ composed of erectile tissue. The clitoris is a bundle of nerves about the size of a pea located at the top of a woman's vulva, above the urethral opening. It is very sensitive and is responsible for feelings of sexual pleasure when stimulated.
Labia Majora – are two prominent longitudinal cutaneous folds which extend downward and backward from the mons pubis to the perineum and form the lateral boundaries of the cleft of venus.
Labia Minora – are two longitudinal cutaneous folds on the human vulva. They are situated between the labia majora, and extend from the clitoris obliquely downward, laterally, and backward on either side of the vulval vestibule, ending between bottom of the vulval vestibule and the labia majora.
Urinary Meatus – the opening of the urethra on the body surface through which urine is discharged.
Vaginal introitus – The vaginal opening is called the introitus of the vagina. The Latin word "introitus" comes from "intro", into, within + "ire", to go = to go into. In anatomy, an introitus is thus an entrance, one that goes into a canal or hollow organ such as the vagina.
Hymen – is a membrane-like tissue that blocks the vaginal opening. The hymen has no known use. Since the hymen usually breaks after having sexual intercourse, women with unbroken hymens were considered virgins.
Perineum – The portion of the body in the pelvis occupied by urogenital passages and the rectum, bounded in front by the pubic arch, in the back by the coccyx, and laterally by part of the hipbone.

INTERNAL GENETALIA:
Vagina – The vagina is the muscular passageway from the exterior of a woman's body to the cervix. The vagina is lined with mucous membranes and makes sexual intercourse, menstruation and child birth possible.
Uterus – The uterus is lined with a membrane called the endometrium. The uterus is the hollow organ in the female reproductive system that holds a fetus during pregnancy.
Ovaries – The ovary is a small sac that produces the eggs that travel into the uterus to be fertilized by sperm. The ovary also holds the eggs and provides nutrients until they are developed enough to be fertilized.
Cervix – The cervix is the lowest part of the uterus, and is able to open during childbirth to allow the baby to pass into the vagina.
